ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CANINE AMBASSADOR?

ambassadorThe Tennessee Valley Kennel Club is full of experts regarding dogs and proper dog care.  Local teachers and youth group leaders are not always knowledgeable in this area.  Therefore, the American Kennel Club® encourages clubs to share their knowledge by offering supplementary presentations (with their dogs whenever possible) to local schools, libraries and youth groups, such as 4-H groups and Boy and Girl Scout Troops.

The AKC has created two sets of lesson plans (materials and videos) for elementary and middle school. You can use these lesson plans for your presentation, or just as a guide and inspiration for presentation topics. As an ambassador, you are listed in the Canine Ambassador Directory, available upon request to teachers, librarians and youth group leaders.

If you are interested in becoming a Canine Ambassador, please download a sign-up form.  AKC requires the signature of a club officer to complete the application.  If you have questions regarding the program, please contact:  Joanne Tribble, Public Education Administrator, 8051 Arco Corporate Dr., Ste. 100, Raleigh, NC 27617  919-816-3712  jbt@akc.org
