August 18 and October 6th ORKC and TVKC will be hosting B-Matches for Conformation, Obedience, and Rally. The August match will be held at the Oak Ridge Kennel Club. The October match will be held at Chilhowee Park, Knoxville. All proceeds will go to the Great Smoky Mountain Cluster. August Details  October Details

Greater St. Louis Shetland Sheepdog Club is inviting our club members to join them October 30-31, 2010 for a 2-day Training and Hands-on Learning with Dr. Carmen Battaglia, author of several books, videos, and DVD's on breeding better dog's. The American Kennel Club and the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation will be presenting a Breeder’s Symposium on September 11th, at the University of Georgia in Athens. Included will be presentations by some of the foremost experts in their fields, speaking on subjects of great interest for all breeders. Details


Great news! We will also have a supported entry for the Kerry Blue Terriers at the Great Smoky Mountain Cluster!
Our club is a member of the AKC Canine Health Foundation as a result of our recent donation of $200.00. This contribution goes toward improving the life of dogs and their owners by contributing to canine health research. Additionally, the club will receive a "Canine Health Foundation Member" banner suitable for hanging at dog shows and other events. We can also designate 10 club members to receive the Canine Health Foundation's quarterly newsletter. If you are interested in receiving this newsletter, contact DruAnne Martin.

TVKC Media Center has been started to document media plans, contacts, press kit, etc.

We need your Rally input. The 2010 Rally Advisory Committee and AKC staff have devoted hundreds of hours toward reviewing the suggestions that were submitted by the fancy, and our task is not yet over. Please review the recommendations below and let us know what you think. We ask that you submit your comments and responses via email at rallyadv@akc.org. Your comments will assist us in the final document that will be presented to the Delegates and then to the AKC Board of Directors. Comments and suggestions will be accepted until August 30, 2010. GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAIN CLUSTER
November 3 - 7, 2010
Chilhowee Exhibition Center - Knoxville, TN
Don’t miss the premier canine event this fall. With over 1800 dogs representing 167 breeds and renown American and international judges, this event is expected be attended by up to 10,000 spectators from seasoned dog fanciers to local children dreaming of owning their first dog.

In addition to the conformation shows, the Cluster will also offer four days of Obedience and Rally competitions. and demonstrations of Lure Coursing and Agility. Many other canine activities may be added such as Meet the Breeds, Dancing Dogs, Big Air Dock Dogs, and others. Details

Best in Show August 7-8, 2010, as well as a Best in Show on July 30, 2010. Spyder has now won Best in Show 13 times.
